Handwoven strips of cotton sewn together into a whole cloth, stitched or tied to create a resist pattern, then dip dyed by hand in indigo. Before dyeing, the individual strips are alternating stripes of white and black; after dying the black stripes remain fainlty visible through the indigo - see image. From Burkina Faso. 100% cotton.
Great for a blanket or throw.

Though this cloth is could be up to 25 years old, it is in excellent condtion. The indigo colour has aged gracefully and the cloth has a lovely, soft feel.
