Our friend Musa Jaiteh volunteers at his local clinic: doing odd jobs and liaising with the village elders and the community. Funds are short and the clinic runs on a shoestring budget.
Our friend Helen Conway's Buy A Plank quiltmaking project raised almost £4,000 to help the clinic. Decisions about how to spend the money are made not by us, but by the head nurse Rose Mendy and the village elders.
Building and sanitation improvements - running water and flush toilets, mainly - have left the money pot virtually empty.
There's more work to do and more supplies to buy: Musa's clinic needs more money!
Every penny we take for these small quilts - mainly by Magie, Isobel and Alison - will go straight to Sukuta Health Centre.
