Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy

You must accept both our Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy before we can accept and process your order. You can do this using the tick box on our Checkout page.

Crowdfunder Terms and Conditions

Prize Draw Entries

1. Promoter
The prize draw is organised by The African Fabric Shop, [2 Lewisham Rd, Slaithwaite, HD7 5AL].

2. Eligibility
Open to UK residents aged 18 or over. Employees of The African Fabric Shop and their immediate families are not eligible.

3. How to Enter
To enter, make a donation of £2 via our Crowdfunder page, the website (africanfabric.co.uk) or purchase tickets in-store.

4. Entry Period
Entries open on 1/9/2026 and close at 11:59pm on 12/10/2026. Entries received after this time will not be valid.

5. Winner Selection
Winners will be chosen at random from all eligible entries and contacted via email within 7 days of the closing date. If a winner does not respond within 7 days, a new winner will be selected.

6. Publicity
By entering, you agree to your name being shared on our website and social media if you win, unless you request otherwise.

7. Data Protection
Personal data will be used solely for the purposes of administering the prize draw and will not be shared with third parties.

8. General
We reserve the right to cancel or amend the draw or these terms where necessary. By entering, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

Special Offer Vouchers

Vouchers will be dispatched via email on the 8th January 2027 and expire 8th January 2029. Vouchers are non refundable after 30 days from purchase.

£3 postage in included in the price. For UK customers that covers all postage. International customers will be asked to pay any extra postage and tariff charges incurred before product is dispatched. General Terms & Conditions

Payment Methods and Security

We accept Visa and Mastercard, plus major debit cards. We do not accept American Express or Diners Club card.

Your payment card details are transmitted via the PayPal secure server and payment gateway. We do not see or record those details.

Cancellation and Returns Policy

We hope you will be delighted with your purchase. However, if you are not satisfied, you may return your goods to us for a full refund, as outlined below:

1. Your contract with The African Fabric Shop begins when we accept your order.
2. In compliance with UK Distance Selling Regulations, you have the right to cancel your order within 7 days of placing it, or within 7 days of receiving your goods, which ever is longer.
3. Refunds will be made within 30 days of cancellation.
4. Refunds will only be made after the goods are received and when the goods are unused and undamaged and in the case of textiles, unwashed. We reserve the right not to refund for goods that have been specifically ordered for you from a supplier.
5. Refunds will be made by the method used to pay for the goods. Credit and debit card transactions will be refunded to the card used for payment. Cheque transactions will be made by cheque payable to the person who placed and paid for the original order.
6. Refunds will be for the value of the goods plus the cost of shipping the goods to you. If you return only some of the goods ordered, the amount we refund for shipping will be calculated pro rata.
7. We will not refund any money paid for return postage, insurance, duty or tax paid outside of the UK. If goods are returned and postage is due, this amount will be deducted from any refund.
8. If goods are returned from outside the UK and duty or tax is levied on these goods re-entering the UK, this amount will be deducted from any refund.

Conformity of Goods

We work very hard to ensure that the images on the website are accurate representations of the items depicted. 

However, customers should understand their personal perception of an image will depend on a number of variables, including: computer graphics card and/or software, computer monitor, browser software, and even their own eye sight. In other words: everybody sees colours differently.

Also, some images on the website (such as our various Adventure Pack images) show representative samples and not necessarily the exact item. Where ever this is the case, we make this clear to you.

Remember: If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return your goods for a full refund, subject to our Cancellation and Returns Policy.

Shipping by Post and Courier

Shipping options and cost are determined automatically by our system. The amount will be displayed clearly during the checkout process before you make your payment. 

International shipping may incure additional customs charges and handling fees. We will endever, where possible, to inform you of any extra charges that may apply to your order. The payment of these charges is the responsibility of you the customer either before shippment or on receipt.

Billing and Delivery Address

If your billing address and delivery address are different and if for any reason we suspect that your card is being used in a fraudulent transaction, we will contact you at the email or telephone number you have given us. If we are not satisfied that the transaction is legitimate, will not ship the goods you have ordered. We will refund the payment to the payment card you used and notify the authorities.

Insurance

We will only insure goods at the customer's request. If the value of your order is greater than GBP100, we strongly recommend that you insure it. If requested, we will insure your goods and add that cost to your payment.

Currency

All transactions will be in UK Pounds Sterling (GBP).

If you would like a conversion into your own currency, there are many websites that do instant online conversions. For example: www.oanda.com Please be aware that online exchange rates and the rate used by your own bank or credit card company may be slightly different. Bank exchange rates are outside of our control.

Duty, Taxes, VAT and other charges

For orders shipped outside the UK:

• Any duty, tax, VAT, international transaction fee or any other charge that may be levied in the destination country is the sole responsibility of the recipient. We will not pay or refund any such levy.
• The declared value on any customs declaration form that we complete will be the true value of the goods. We will not fraudulently declare a lower value. 
• All prices on the website include UK VAT (sales tax) at the current rate. We will not refund VAT.
