Genuine amber is a fossilised tree resin. It is rare and very expensive.
These imitation amber beads are probably made from plastic, most likely in Morocco. This type of bead is worn by the Berber people and traded across West Africa, especially among the Fulani and Wodaabe.
Because these beads are handmade and treated to look old - size, shape and colour may vary slightly.
Sourced in Ghana.
