Machine spun and handwoven strips of cotton sewn together into a whole cloth. Base cloth is woven as black and white stripes. Stitched or tied to create a resist, then dip dyed by hand in indigo. Some small threads (sometimes white, light blue or gold) may remain in the cloth after the maker has unpicked the resist stitching. You can remove these easily or leave them to contribute to the genuine handmade character of the cloth.
