Creative Kids Week of Workshops
18th - 22nd August
A series of workshops designed to inspire the young creative.
Each workshop lasts an hour, requires basic craft skills and has all materials and equipment provided. Suitable for ages 6+ years. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Create your own unique beads out of a selection of colourful African fabrics.
- Transform them into a chunky beaded bracelet suitable for all ages.
- Create a spiral sun catcher using our glass bead range.
- Made from recycled glass bottles in Ghana, every sun catcher will truely sparkle.
- Make your own funky applique patch using fabrics and threads from South Africa.
- Use your patch to up-cycle a jacket or jeans, creating your own unique style.
- Create a fancy phone strap using unique beads handmade in Ghana.
- (If you don't have a phone you can attached it to a purse or bag.)

African Odyssey Wall Hanging Sewing Machine Weekend
with Janice Gunner and Stitchtopia.
Stitchtopia have just launched their 2026 workshop programme. You can book a wonderful session with our good friend and renowned quilt artist Janice Gunner. Spend a weekend creating a colourful wallhanging inspired by Africa, using authentic African fabrics, sourced from local traders and artists.
Your Tour Includes
- 2 full days of tuition with Janice Gunner
- Use of a Bernina 500 series sewing machine
- 2 nights full-board accommodation, from dinner on Friday to lunch on Sunday
- Tea, coffee and snacks throughout the weekend
- Services of an experienced Retreat Manager

Summer is almost uppon us, come rain or shine, we will be here, in our little African utopia located in the rolling hills of Gods own Country, West Yorkshire, England.
Open Monday - Saturday, 10am - 4pm.
Closed Sundays for family time and rest.
Find us at our new location in Slaithwaite, a bustling little village with lots of lovely independently owned shops and cafès. Perfect for whiling away a sunny summer afternoon.
